Just change Maggie into Georgie...

I don't blame Georgie, he had a marketable family name. And he makes a poor puppet; if you want a ventriloquist dummy, visit Hollywood. Reagan, Schwarzenegger, who's the next face of Republican Inc? At least his father was a politician, this guy's a joke.
The policies launched in his name though are no laughing matter.

Yeah...but that's unlikely...remember, he probably won't be able to logon (seeing as they removed all the 'W' 's from the White House computers!!! ;D ;D ;D)

Yeah...but that's unlikely...remember, he probably won't be able to logon (seeing as they removed all the 'W' 's from the White House computers!!! ;D ;D ;D) That prank was done by Clinton staffers during their last day and caused a mini-tempest here in the first days of the Bush administration - at least the media wanted to make it seem like a big deal. I thought it was hilarious... Or should I say "Hillaryous?" ;D

Yeah - it does seem funny that such a simple thing could cause so much chaos ..and yes before you ask, I was talking about the prank, not about the president! ;D

Fancy, me having less interest as I do in polotics then I do for War Of The Worlds... That I should be posting on this thread.
Though I believe we are all intital to our opinions. Maybe not being American, my veiw on your president may be irrelenvant...
But I believe that the country would be better run by a monkey that they pay in Bananas. Then a multi million paid Bush... Hell maybe a Bush or just a shrub might do a better job.
Frankly, Georgie is just Daddy's puppet... and is trying to do what his father couldn't... Other then doing an equally good job at running the country into the ground...
Much the same can be said about our own Prime Minister Mr. Little Johnny Howard... I figure while they are getting paid for it they don't mind how much they fu<k our countries... ;D
I say Vote 1 for the mokies next election!

DF, don't get me started on the crushed velvet gowns again! Sill, I agree with you entirely (though I doubt the not-so-mighty-Boosh gets paid that much - apart from being a bit of an idiot, there's conflicts of interest to consider.. )

It doesn't really matter how many votes there are, does it? It didn't when he got in. If that happens again, surely there will be some kind of revolt by the American Public, otherwise a dictatorship will ensue and perhaps a military state..... (Maybe the real reason for the last war was so that Bush could employ Saddam Hussein as a secret advisor).
Also lets look at all the security and fear there is in America now- what's the good of making so many enemies? America is no longer a free country due to its actions and policies of the last few decades. And I'm not referring here to it's internal 'democracy' either...

Yeah but the problem is Donal, at the last election, it was a close-run thing (I firmly believe that it was Gore that actually won - I think this was somehow demonstrated at the time by one of the national newspapers ; however, Charles will argue equally strongly that Bush won fair and square). So if the same happens again, whether we like it or not, he will have been democratically elected, even if by the smallest of small majorities (or a large minority, depending on the way you look at it..). In that case, I don't think the people will riot - more likely they'll slide into a 'you can't win no matter how hard you try' apathy. Of course, if Bush continues further with his hard-right policies, particularly on tax, employment, the environment and, of course, foreign policy, then it could get dangerous - and just one slip could see his administration facing a 'no confidence' situation and another election called. I believe it happened over here in 1974 with the outgoing Tory government...

Maybe the question should be: would _Wells_ have supported Bush?
Whenever I see Bush talking about 'exporting democracy' and the US military start 'bombing for peace', personally I think of Wells' fascist thugs in 'Things to Come'... so I can only presume that Wells would have voted for Bush, if given the opportunity to do so.
