Here is another that I have done today. This is my own rendition of what I believe the Fighting Machines look like.

That's a fun interpretation, and quite scary. The side view looks like a trilobite on stilts!
Good one.

Wow! That's amazing. I love the originality of it, especially how you have done the baskets... and the building and person for scale is a nice touch. The muscle-like joints work very well, too - give it a great organic feel to it. Handling machine or flying machine next?

very nice H_C, good work. They look very scary, I will never get bored, to see new and old tripods They are so high. Make me remember, of Dinosaurs Movies, when i was about 7, 8 years old, they made me very scared because of their hights, the same for king kong. The difference with the tripods, is that there are a lot of them, this is adding to the horror of it.chantale.

Im going to re-work the hood a little, remove some of the seams and tilt it down a little. The idea you see in the above sketch is to show that the hood has 2 lots of pivot points about it. The body with the legs attached and the seams in the hood acting as hinged portions, similar to train coaches of today with the joint between coaches. The baskets come from H.Gs description "like a fishermans basket", hence you drape it over your shoulder.

An excellent FM design H_C! There's an almost unnerving bio-mechanical feel to it. Like some peverse fusion of organic larve and mechanical spider? Excellent attention on the details as well. The human "fishing baskets" are really cool. I really like it. A most unique design that's both creepy and quite menacing. Somewhat organic, but not entirely. Sweet!

Tis an excellent fighting machine design, I wouldnt want to see any tripod in the street, but yours tops my list of ones I would flee from rather quickly

lol, Spirit of Man! I'm not sure I could eat one of those with a "straight face" or not. Still, they do look rather tasty...

Some great stuff their Mr H_C. Loving the latest sketch. The legs remind me of the Striders from HL2. I definately wouldn't want to see that stalking the streets Keep up the fantastic work!

i like your personal design from the side view, but the front view, IMO, just looks a little too narrow. plus i'm not sure if i like the asymmetrical 'eyes'. also i would prefer the heat ray camera be held by the tentacles. however, these are nitpicks, i think its a good design mostly
