All my books are packed away at the moment, but I do have a really nice leatherbound acid free paper Wells collection containing The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, The First Men in the Moon, The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Invisible Man, and The Food of the Gods. It was given to me as a gift for my 14th birthday. It also has some Warwick Goble illustrations.
I also have the Watermill Classics 1980 print of WOTW, and also the Pocket Books 1988 print which plugs the TV show.
As for other books...
old tattered paperbacks: The Time Machine The Island of Dr. Moreau The Invisible Man The First Men in the Moon
Since they're packed away, I don't know the publisher or date of any of those, but they're all pretty old, pre-1970 at least.
Other stuff:
WOTW PC game Jeff Waynes musical version, on CD, and an old tape my granddaddy made of it for me back in 1980. He has the original record.
I almost bought the Playstation game on e-bay, but the bidding got up to $40.00 and I let the other guy have it.

> Now if I could just get my hands on a Looking Glass > version with the Gorey illustrations...
I first read that back in elementary school. It was one of the first sci-fi books I ever read and, as you might guess, it influenced me greatly. It took me 5 years to track down a copy of my very own.
I have 3 other copies of The War of the Worlds by itself. I have "The Complete War of the Worlds", which has stuff on the 53 movie and the 38 radio version, and "The Critical Edition" which has history and annotation. I have the Action Classics RPG on order at my local game store (which includes the full text) and I have a file on my PDA.
Add to that "The Time Machine", "Star Begotten", the "H.G.Wells Treasury of World Masterpieces" (which has most of his novels collected) and "28 Science Fiction Stories" (which includes the "prequel" The Crystal Egg.)
I also have two copies of "First Men in the Moon", one with a personalized illustration by Bob Eggleton (I was on a panel with him at WorldCon a few years back)
I have the George Pal WotW, "The Invisible Man" (Claude Raines!) and "Things to Come" on VHS. I have the '38 radio drama on CD and as an MP3. I have the Jeff Wayne stuff also as MP3. I have the video game based on Jeff Wayne's stuff and ripped the background music from that to MP3.
I have "Global Dispatches", "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" vol 2, "Scarlet Traces", "Sherlock Holmes' War of the Worlds" and a rare copy of Garrett Serviss's "Edison's Conquest of Mars". (That took me about 10 years to track down).

The Complete War of the Worlds The Invisible Man The Food of the Gods (got it for $.50 at a used book sale) The First Men in the Moon Selected Stories of H.G. Wells (it has the Land-Ironclads, The Crystal Egg, the New Accelerator, The Country of the Blind, etc., but neither The Sea-Raiders nor Aepyornis Island, two of my favorites)

Bloody gloaters! We get them all the time around here. They say "Can I come in? Just to have a quick gloat?"
Anyway, just added another to my meager Wells list- am reading the Time Machine at the moment having never read it before or seen either movie. Which is a very good thing.
So- The War Of The Worlds The First Men In The Moon The Time Machine
The collection's, er, it's not growing paricularly quickly- so many other good books to read too. (will be expanding the Wyndham collection soon to- my other favourite Sci-Fi writer)

Here's some advice. See the modern Time Machine first, and then go back and see the old one. You might have a different reaction than most people.

I dont have any comics and such of Well's works but I do have quite a few of his original stuff, which I would count as being the ONLY ones really recognisable in this topic, everything else being plagiarised, surely? And I see that there is no mention of his "Short History of the World" or 'The Shape of Things to Come", both of which I have. These are both tremendous works, especially the latter.

2. War of the Worlds - Tor classics 1993 paperback
3. Collector's Book of Science Fiction - WoTW with Warwick Goble illustrations
4. War of the Worlds - Special hardcover with Alvim Correa illustration on cover
5. Invisible Man - Tor classics 1997 paperback

And I've got some more stuff boxed away as yet. But that's all I've got set up right now.
