Back then I rented the videos a couple of times. I'm sure I didn't see all the episodes. As far as I recall, I don't like the show. It has a big B-movie feeling about it. The only good things I remember about it, is the flashback scene in -I think- episode one, where they combine scenes from Pal's movie with that of the kid (to be main character) sitting in the street, and the idea about the '38 invasion in Grovers Mill really happened. The bikers sucked, though...

Except for the beginning when the Machines rise up from that warehouse and you see those people running. That's the only cool thing about it in my humble opinion

The good moments where few and far between. How come it lasted for 40-something episodes is beyond me.

[glow=red,2,300]Still, I'd like a proper dvd release for my collection. Also those fans of the tv series deserve one (for some time theres was the only wotw voice to be heard on the net) [/glow]

Considering the lot of junk and filth that does get released on DVD, a WOTW tv-series on DVD doesn't sound unlikely to me. But I'm not betting - or spending for that matter - my money on it.

I used to have a copy of Starlog which had a big article in it. I tried to look it up last week, but appearantly, I have thrown it in the bin. Where the series also belong.

Before I saw the WotW TV show, I thought nothing could be much worse than "Lost in Space" or "Space: 1999".
I was wrong. WotW -- the TV series -- was so utterly awful that I couldn't watch it. Even the setup was ludicrous: The Martian invasion actually happened back in the '50s but everyone FORGOT about it??? Owww-- my brain hurts from trying to imagine how anyone could buy this cowflop!
From the very little I saw, the best bits were where they took bits of George Pal's movie FX and stuck them into the episodes.

[glow=red,2,300]Come on, Lost In Space is good like an Ed Wood movie, enjoyably bad. [/glow]

WOTW the TV series is the kind of thing that gave Television Sci Fi a bad name for a long time. It is an insult both to HG Wells and George Pal.

[glow=red,2,300]I think the biggest insult is telling fans of the show (and there are plenty out there) that the show doesn't exist.
That and not releasing it on DVD! [/glow]

Well, I liked it.
Yes, it had huge flaws, but it also had great creativity and fantastic design (limited, yes, but fantastic).
The characters were colorful and well developed, too. That tends to be missing in much of TV.
I want it on DVD. Preferably with interviews of the cast, crew, creators, etc. and any "restored" stuff they can find.
