Just to say i've received my DVD (last week actually), many thanks to asylum for the prompt shipping to the UK. Also thanks for the little signed card. Top marks for that. I'm hoping to watch this and PP's version back to back with a few mates who have followed both versions with "interest". I'll post my reactions when my PP version actually arrives (ordered same day as the asylum one, asylum arrived on the 4th, still waiting for PP). Again, top marks so far asylum I dont think i'll be dissapointed by this version, just "a certain other version". Ste.

Well I watched this one and the pendragon one last night.
Well well well, timbo got those effects badly wrong didn't he. I have no problem with the dialogue in the pendragon one, although they could have used some actual english actors. Anyway, the pendragon review is for the pendragon forum.
I liked the asylum version. I happen to be a normal person (steady now), and as such i'm not such a devout to the book and the earlier attempts at movies. I see each medium has its good and bad points.
The film was good, it was slightly disjointed but it was still fun. I liked the book references, the carrots after leaving the ruined house, the church being rebuilt only 3 years ago and now swept away .. all good.
The direction was good, not excellent but definately good. I feel that the sound effects were too loud, overpowering the dialogue too much too often.
The Pastor was a great actor, really liked him. CT was great, and his son has the largest eyes i've ever seen. The walkers looked .. ok. I'd have preferred them to have 3 legs but hey.
The pace was spot on, perhaps a bit more tension in the pit by the unscrewing of the lid but otherwise I think 1:30 mins was perfect.
I enjoyed it, i'll watch it again. I'm also going to watch out for that zombie movie in the trailers, that looks quite funny.
Well done Mr Latt.

Yes, the ASYLUM version is a cracker of a film and I also thought the signed card inside was a real neat thing from ASYLUM and a rarity to get from the film studios. I had one in my DVD when WOTWOnline received there advanced copy over a month ago.

Well I didn't receive any handwritten message (but I wasn't getting an early review copy) but the little postcard inside was signed by two people, one is Mr Latt (I think, signatures can be hard to decipher) and I think Andy Lauer but then again signature's are just scrawls at the end of the day. Still its much appreciated all the same.
