How did George W. respond? Me guesses he wasn't happy to have his house demolised? Did he choke on a pretzel?

No..and no idea. And thanks for your hilarious contributions. I don't think I'll bother sending this off. The guy will think I'm taking the piss. I won't be asking any other people from the movies to contribute here if this is the kind of questions and general apathy we will get.

your tripods look just like a tank with the gun barrel chopped off, did you think of this or your kid?? also the texture of the fighting machines is cheap, lacks depth and dimension like kids cgi cartoons was this to give it that real b movie feel? does the cylinder as it flys in to our atmosphere have sparks flowing from its tail like old flash gordon stuff? many thanks.

Part of the problem (probably the main problem, in fact) is that Asylum's film has only just come out on DVD. As a result, far fewer people will have seen it than either of the other versions, and if you ordered it from Amazon, you're probably still waiting! If I were you, I'd junk this thread and start again in a week or two, when most people who were interested will have had a chance to watch it.

Yeah, I was thinking about asking for the size of their rendering farm, but thought, why bother? -Gnorn

If I get any more *sensible*questions in the next week or so I will pass it on to the FX studio. So ask away if you like.

Did you use models besides CGI? What other projects have you guys and galls been involved with? Any favourite CGI FX in a movie?

Did you, for example, on the ruined DC footage use mainly Matt Paintings for the backgrounds or was all the artwork done on the computer to start with?
What was in that goo the pastor put on his face after being hit by the "acid" from the alien in the ruined house scene, it looked superb.
I think the main problem with asking questions is that most of them were covered in the "how did they do that" extra on the DVD. Thats all I can think of at this time.
