This is indeed a rarity, I have never seen this done before. Paramaount Pictures have given people the chance to choose the DVD cover artwork for there November release of the 2 disc 'special edition' of Steven Spielbergs summer mega blockbuster War Of the Worlds. The online survey gives you a wide range of covers to selct and now doubtly, the one that receives the most 'clicks' will be the one that Paramount go for. To see the cover designs and to choose and take part in the survey, just simply click the link below. www.paramountdvd.co.uk/emails/wotw/survey/Also by taking part in the survey you will automatically be entered into a competition by Paramount Pictures for a chance to win a DVD palyer and a copy of the 1953 War Of The Worlds DVD that is also released as a 'special edition' in November. With thanks to: Tripod War Machine

I picked for the 1st row, the 3rd one The 2nd row the 3rd one.
oo they better have a slip cover over it because I think that makes a dvd even better when they have them.
But that just me

That must have been one of the many cut scenes in the film when Val Kilmer turned and Cruise says "Hey Iceman, your so cool, you could give them a cold fella"

That must have been one of the many cut scenes in the film when Val Kilmer turned and Cruise says "Hey Iceman, your so cool, you could give them a cold fella" We then see a scene full of dead aliens, the song Take My Breath Away[/b] comes on In their case it was literally!

NOW there's an interesting choice from Paramount! 5 covers with the obligatory face of Tom Cruise [and partially obscured Fanning] and 3 covers with some aliens hand. Oh and his name in big letters with no other stars names present.
Call me an old cynic but I wonder which one will mysteriously win, and even if it doesn't you can bet your ar*e that it will appear in the not too distant future while the aliens hand also mysteriously disappears from the shelves - because hey!, the fans really want Cruise on the cover and they voted for it ya know!

You are not the only one to think that Fallingstar I assure you. I would have prefered them to keep a running total on which designs were the leading vote getters, but I guess numbers are just as easily manipulated. Shock! Horror! 1000 people have suddenly voted for the cover with the Cruise close-up Reminds me a bit of the Matrix. As long as we are given the illusion of choice we are happy.

What a pair of old cynics we are Brutal. Surely we can't be right about Cruise wanting to take up the entire dvd cover as he usually does. Surely not!
Mind you I have to say I do sympathise with Cruise. Can you imagine if the alien hand wins - poor guy will have severe withdrawal symptoms if there's one film that hasn't got his heroic face on every dvd cover, throughout the world. Bless him!

I'd say if that happened he'd have to consult a psychiatrist, but we all know what he thinks of them

Yes, or instead of a psychiatrist he could get a bit of a hypnotism thing going on there. Hypnotism can do wonders for an over-inflated ego. I can see it now.
Hypnotist - Look into my eyes Tom Cruise you WILL come to terms with your face not being on the dvd cover, you WILL come to terms.
Tom Cruise you WILL let at least one other star of the films name appear on the cover. You WILL.
Tom Cruise you WILL try and talk about the film instead of your lovelife or scientology. You WILL.
At the end of the session -
Tom Cruise to the hypnotist - Ok I WILL let Tim Robbins name appear on the dvd cover......... but it has to be on the back, in tiny miniscule letters where it's very hard to see and I want the film renamed CRUISE CONTROL instead of War of the Worlds.
Hypnotist - AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! I give up!

If this is in the wrong section, then please move it, but as it is a related subjected.... The DVD covers were pretty awesome, but none really grabbed my attention that much - so I loaded up photoshop, and had a go at making my own What dya fink?

Bloody hell, that's better than Paramounts one's.
Hey Para, give this man a job.
The only bit I would change is where you have put "From Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Pictures" on the top of the rear of the cover and re-place it with a couple of film critics reviews/newspaper reviews, but apart from that cracking design.

;D It was nothin' ... It's a very sad hobby of mine, but I like designing DVD covers - I did several sleeves for the new series of Dr Who ... and I have to say to being biased - I prefer my own designs to the ones the BBC gave us It was just a bit of fun but glad ya liked it

That cover won't be acceptable. Part of Toms face is obscured by the title. He'll go ape if he sees that!
