Its a 747...the cockpit area is unmistakeable. I agree the crash scene is a little contrived because anything coming down from 30 - 40,000 feet will disintegrate on impact or be torn apart on the way down because of the initial damage caused by whatever it was....I tend to think that this aircraft was empty on take off...the crew trying to get away...and that it was hit by an Alien weapon when only a few seconds after take off and at low speed and altitude. I cant see any other explanation fitting the evidence.

What we heard and saw was a green flash, indicating to me they used a 'Heat Ray' or something similar.
