If you could ask the makers of this new incarnation of War of the Worlds any (sensible) questions what would they be?

Perhaps the most obvious one:
What reserch have they done regarding the story and characters for the new film.
What problems they've had making this/ what good things they like.
How do the actors feel about the origonal story, have they read Wells books, have they donr reserch themselves.

Did they find it difficult to transpose the story to a modern setting? How closely did they follow the books story, although it is a modern piece. What gives with the quite different tripod design.. especially with the legs? Who came up with the design? Are the aliens actually Martians?? How did the idea for this flick come about? How do they feel about the other movies that are on the way?

If you could ask the makers of this new incarnation of War of the Worlds any (sensible) questions what would they be? Producers: * Credentials / Influences? * When and how did the idea for the film come about? * Who/what was the driving force behind getting the film green lit and filmed? * Opinion about competing with three other interpretations, and what problems / challenges did that create? * Did copyright issues impact the production? * Feelings on charges of exploitation, which are sure to come? Screenwriter/s: * Credentials / Influences? * How did you use the original source material? * Where & why did you stick to the novel? Where did you deviate from it and why? * How long did it take to write? * How many drafts did it undergo? * Did you encounter any special problems during composition? Director: * Credentials / Influences? * Familiarity with the novel? * How familiar are you with the fan base? * Why were you attracted to the material? * How was pre-production? * How long did it take to shoot? * Any special problems / challenges during production? * How was post-production? Actors: * Credentials / Influences? * What was it about the script that interested you in your roll? * What was the casting experience for this film like? * How did you prepare for the roll? * Familiarity with the novel? * Fan base? * What scenes were the most rewarding to film? * What scenes were the most difficult? * Have you visited waroftheworldsonline.com? -- I think I drank too much coffee this morning.

What are the best biscuits for dunking in tea? Hob Nobs. Dunk me! Again! On topic - I'd ask them why it's been so secretive till now. Seems a bit sudden.

What is the reason for giving the machines 6 legs instead of the HGs original idea of 3.

Seriously, I would ask if it's a cynical attempt to cash in on the hype created by the Spielberg film. I would have the utmost respect if they said "yes"...

"Seriously, I would ask if it's a cynical attempt to cash in on the hype created by the Spielberg film. I would have the utmost respect if they said "yes"... " BUt that would ruin the game. You have to act like your are making a film with artistic pretensions even if it is the most obvious cheap rip off imaginable. Bottom line: this is a cheap, quckie attemtp to cash in on the Speilberg. film The film could be cheesy fun to watch, but let's not blind ourselves to what it is.

Were there any technical difficulties in filming human flesh being ripped from the bone?
