LIMITED EDITION GATE-FOLD DOUBLE VINYL ALBUM RELEASE THIS NOVEMBER OF "JEFF WAYNE'S MUSICAL VERSION OF THE WAR OF THE WORLDS"
Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds, the multi-award winning classic album re-released in June, has become the biggest selling re-issue album of 2005. With sales of over 360,000 units since re-release in June and an amazing ten consecutive weeks in the top 10 album charts, The War Of The Worlds, has proved to be the smash hit album of the summer and in terms of sales and chart positions and has eclipsed many of the ‘much–hyped’ artist album releases over the last 3 and a half months including The Black Eyed Peas, Charlotte Church & The Magic Numbers. It has now also overtaken Paul Simon’s Graceland and REM’s Automatic for The People in the all time UK album sales Top 40.
The album has enjoyed huge success and critical acclaim across the globe with sales before its re-launch of over 13 million records sold and numerous accolades acquired The War Of The Worlds initially spent over 260 consecutive weeks in the UK albums charts alone.
The re-issued album has already been stunningly remixed in stereo and newly mixed in 5.1 surround sound, and remastered, and, since June, has been available in two formats, a strikingly re-packaged double CD, and a deluxe 7 disc Collector’s Edition package in a 12” x 12” 80-page hardback presentation book.
To satisfy demand, the remixed, remastered 2005 edition of the album will be made available in a limited edition double vinyl package this Christmas. Strictly limited to 5000 copies worldwide, the double vinyl will see only one pressing and will be released on 21st November to coincide with the re-promotion of the CD version of the album and will benefit from the heavyweight marketing campaign around this.
The limited edition double vinyl set will have all new artwork, restored and re-configured from the original double LP and be packaged in a deluxe double gatefold sleeve with a full colour, 36 page, 12x12 booklet.
